In 1960 they put a date on infinity. Friday the thirteenth, November 2026. That is next month. People heard “too many mouths.” That is not the trick. Ordinary growth, the kind that doubles on a timer, never finishes. It gets huge, but it is always a number.
People talk like there was a wall in the sky. There was no wall. There was a hinge. Near the speed of sound the air over the wing goes faster than the plane. A shock sits on the little flap you pull to lift the nose. The flap stops working. The stick goes dead.
From space it looks like a spider parked in the Australian desert. It is not a bug. It is not a volcano. It is a crater that bounced, then lost the bowl. A small rock from space digs a hole that stays a hole. A bigger one digs a hole too deep to stand. The floor rushes back up.
Jupiter’s inner moon looks like leftover pizza. It is not leftover. It is being wrung out. Three clocks lock. Io twice around while Europa goes once. Ganymede once while Io goes four times. They never all meet. That little rule keeps Io’s path a hair oval.
A hurricane is not an angry front. It is a heat engine. The ocean is the stove. The top of the sky is the cold sink. You boil water off the sea. You lift it. It rains. The leftover work is wind.

The ocean does not care how hard you shake. It cares if you lift it. Yesterday Panama jumped 7.7. The first alarm said eight and named nine countries. Two hours later they cancelled. The rock had only slid sideways, on land. A broom.
The moon computer did not crash. It threw out the homework. A spare radar they left on for an abort was arguing about an angle that did not exist. The argument ate about one eighth of the clock. The computer was already busy landing.
The telescope at the South Pole does not look at the sky. It looks through the planet. Cosmic rays make a rain of muons from above. A million of those for every muon a neutrino makes. So they throw away everything coming down.
Hands come in pairs. Molecules do too. Life picked one hand and never looked back. A flask, left alone, makes both. The trick is not a better teacher. It is a mixed-hand couple that sits down. A metal can hold two helpers. Same-same keeps working. Left-right is slower, or asleep.
Yesterday the last mirror was going to sit in the wafer. Today they punch a hole in it. 0.33 can keep that optic beside the cone. Filled disk. Fine. 0.55 is thirty-three degrees.
